The Rootsとの共作を挟んでオリジナルとしては５年ぶりとなるJohn Legendの4作目。2作目、3作目と徐々にPopな方向に寄っていっていたが、今回はそれほどでもなく、ゆっくり目の曲中心にシンガー John Legendを聴かせる作品になっている。label ownerのKanye WestやDave Tozer手がけるTrackは茫洋として壮大な印象のものが多いが、良く聴くと凝った作りになっている。対照的にメロディはいたってシンプルで判り易く、John Legendの表現力が活かされている。やはり、この方向のほうが彼らしさがでると思う。
