| UKはBristol出身のSinger, Yolaの3年ぶりの2作目。俳優としても活躍しているとのこと。出身地とアルバムジャケットから、アバンギャルドな感じなのかと思ってたら、まったくの真逆で、Vintage Soulな逸品となっている。一聴して、女性版CeeLo Greenと言えそうとも思ったが、CeeLoとはLabel Mateであり、彼の最新作と同じDan Auerbach(Label OwnerかつBlack Keysのメンバー)による全面Produceということで納得がいくこととなった。既にNashvilleに移っており、カントリーっぽい③がBest GrammyのBest American Roots Songにもノミネートされていて、UK色は0%のカントリー、ファンクが混ざったサザンソウル作品となっている。曲調はUp〰Medium〰Slowがバランス良く配されていて、Yolaも既に38歳ということで、少々かすれ気味の声で、曲調に合わせた、成熟したVocalを聴かせている。 | ||
