お騒がせ夫婦、BeyonceとJay-Zによるユニット、The Carterによるアルバム。シングルでの共演は過去にも有ったが、アルバムは初。ユニット名はFamily Nameよりとっている。Jay-Zの浮気を動機に各々のソロアルバム、そして共作と3枚作ってしまうのは流石。そんな先入観は置いておいて、期待以上の出来の作品になっている。二人から想像される攻撃性、華やかさ、派手さみたいなものは一切排除されていて、ゆったりとしっとりとした良曲が多いところが特徴的。タイトルにあるようにファミリー愛を焦点に置いている。どちらかといったら、Beyonceの唄が主役で、Jay-ZのRapは付加的なものに感じる。
