Destiny's Child解散から、間をあけずにリリースされたBeyonceの2作目。相変わらずの押し出しの強さと激しさが感じられ、勢いがずっと継続していることを印象付ける。過去のDestiny's Child作品、ソロ作品に比べてもUPでリズミカル、ワイルドなトラックの比重が多く、斬新なビートにもトライしている。有名どころのProducer連中は良い仕事をしているが、個性が強いだけに、どうしても既聴感を感じてしまう。
