India.Arie はアトランタ出身25才のいわゆる新人で、もちろんこれがデビュー作。Titleとおりのテイストのアルバムで、サウンド的には本人の弾くGuitarが特徴となっている。制作に１年半をかけたらしく、スロー中心のtrackが丁寧に作り上げられている。Vocalを前面に押し出したミックスも好感が持てる。Lyricは内省的なものが多いようだが、暗いという感じは無く、静かでありながら力強い。
